Don’t miss out on this incredible show.

Gold Star Reivews are almost all 5 out of 5 Stars!

“This is one of my favorite films of all time so to say I know every line is an understatement. However, this version was so charming and funny that I didn’t mind the changes. And ERIC BAYS is amazing as Paul. I think the whole audience fell in love with him. Great work!”

“Second time I ‘ve seen BITP and it was even funnier this time. Eric Bays was great again and I was able to catch more of his throwaway gems. Great way to spend a dreary, rainy Sunday afternoon. I plan on seeing it again.”

“Friendly, intimmate and small theater where you could almost feel a part of what is happening on stage. Like you’ve joined the party. Actors stayed true to their roles and were believable. Loved Eric Bays’ performance.”

“I love this play and I love these actors. This is the perfect play for you to take your boyfriend, your girlfriend, or just a friend, who is not really into theatre. It is fun, funny, witty, and so much more!”

“Great play, great theater and superb acting. I loved the character and the story: light but smart, with non contrived ending. Highly recommended for couple of all ages. Theater is BYOB (or rather bring your own wine) which is very nice of them. The place is very simple and intimate, yet does not feel cramped. We were sitting in the “first row” and it was a joy. Will come back for sure for future plays.”

Goldstar Reviews of the Showcase

reviews from Goldstarevents.com

For the cost, this is a great event. Overall, it’s a good event. It personally doesn’t bother me, but be prepared that this is a tiny venue and very homespun. I very much appreciate that it’s a collective group of improv artists who are just trying to share their love and talent with everyone. You’re really there for the words….

…Roboctopus was distinctively better than the first group. They definitely had my friends and I laughing. The topic was babies balls, and that started off their skit hysterically discussion circumcisions. We really liked them and definitely would like to see them again.

The last group was Cyclops Baby, and it was obvious why they were the closers. There was barely a second that they were performing that we weren’t laughing. The situation thrown out was Cirque du Soleil at McDonald’s, which ended up being hysterical. Their “interpretive” acting was just as funny as their verbal discourse. They were fantastic, and I look forward to seeing them again!

Small sidenote — the bathroom is cool as hell. The walls are wallpapered with the pages out of plays and musicals. It’s very creative and super cool.

Overall, the experience was definitely worth it and funny. It’s easy to get to from public transportation, and it’s BYOB! We didn’t know that before hand but wish we had!

Reviews from Goldstarevents.com from May 24th’s Showcase featuring Cave of Hobans, Roboctopus, 21st Century Men):

This was the best improv I’ve seen in a long time, better then anything at any of the other improv theaters. All 3 groups were great, especially Roboctopus and 21st Century Men. Plus, you can BYOB at this theater and that makes for a fun cheap night! I will for sure be back!- 4 stars

Snubfest a Hit!

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

Snubfest is over, and we here at CIC are still recovering from a fun, busy weekend. Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows, all of the volunteers for their hard work, and the performers who brought their A-game all weekend long. The Chemically imbalanced Theater saw some amazing shows over the past several days, and we’ll be reliving the weekend, in the blog and elsewhere, for days to come.

Below is a Goldstar member review of Friday night’s Last Snob Standing Stand-Up Showcase, along with some pictures from the event. Thanks again to all the comics and judges who made it an evening to remember!

“This was my second experience with Chemically Imbalanced Theater. My friends and I enjoyed an evening of laughter. The comedy was fresh, and the crowd was really into it. I would definitely attend a show with the Chemically Imbalanced crew again!”- 4 stars

Final Book of Liz Review

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

The Book of Liz closed last weekend. While the cast suffers through post-show depression and compiles their own thoughts on the end of the run (soon to be posted on this very blog), here’s a Goldstar customer review of the 50th, final performance:

“It’s too bad I saw this play on its closing night. I would see it again. It verges on the hysterical (all definitions) and is funny, smart, witty; basically everything anyone expects from any Sedaris. Seriously, lobby to get this play back. It’s very
entertaining. I won’t give away any plot points (like I could!), but I will say that any play that includes both cheese balls and Mr. Peanut is a must-see!”

Congratulations to the cast on a wonderful run, and thank you to every audience member who made it out to the show!
